Introduction to Life on Autism Lane

This is a collection of stories.  They are not in any particular order and are in collections, of sorts.  Some of the chapters have a central story and others have lots of stories around a particular theme. #MomsNotHome, for example, has lots of fun short stories.

The book was originally written as a way to collect funny stories of The Boy and give them to Christina, The Boy’s mom, on his 5th birthday, November 1st as a fully published book.  Personally, I think mom’s should get gifts on a child’s birthday too.  That just makes more sense to me.

As The Boy’s birthday got closer, it became clear I would never make the deadline.  But Christmas, and Christina’s birthday, was RIGHT around the corner, so it became a Christmas gift.

I gave the collection of stories to others to proofread and it became clear from their feedback that there are many important voices that are missing.  This is a book about The Boy and he has touched so many people in important ways.  Their stories need to be heard as well so this book needs to grow before it can more complete.

So the adventures have different voices as well.  Unless specified under the title of the story, the main writer is James, father of The Boy Wonder.

This book is a compilation with many characters.  The main character and the focus of the vast majority of stories are about my son, whom we affectionately call, The Boy Wonder.

The book is dedicated to all those people in The Boy’s life who have helped help shape him into the beautiful person he is today.
