{"id":857,"date":"2017-08-20T19:30:56","date_gmt":"2017-08-20T19:30:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lifeonautismlane.com\/?p=857"},"modified":"2018-12-20T19:33:23","modified_gmt":"2018-12-20T19:33:23","slug":"dinosaurs-and-other-toys-when-momsnothome","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifeonautismlane.com\/index.php\/2017\/08\/20\/dinosaurs-and-other-toys-when-momsnothome\/","title":{"rendered":"Dinosaurs and Other \u2018Toys\u2019 when #MomsNotHome"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">He likes to carry his dinosaurs, and other toys, around in some kind of container.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Sometimes a bag, sometimes a bucket, a backpack or just something he has found that day.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This is pretty handy for us when it comes time for cleanup and just to keep things organized. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">From time to time, he likes certain kitchen utensils as toys too.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>His favorite are knives.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>On any given day he may come around the corner holding one of our 8\u201d or 10\u201d chef\u2019s knives!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>He is not doing anything with them yet, not carving anything up or hurting anything.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Thank God!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><br \/>\nOne day we tell him it is time to clean up, \u201cC\u2019mon, it\u2019s time to go.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Get your toy bucket and get in the car!\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I walk out to the car to buckle him in, look to the right of the car seat and see what he decided to bring &#8211; his alligator and a 10\u201d chef\u2019s knife.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I have no idea how long it has been in his bucket.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">I had to take a photo of it, just for posterity but I honestly am not sure if I ever told his mother.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This may be the first she has heard of it.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>No need to highlight this one.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Maybe she won\u2019t read this story\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Needless to say, nothing is boring when The Boy Wonder is around. \u00a0Initially I mourned for all the \u2018lost\u2019 memories we should have had and what I desperately thought I wanted. \u00a0The reality of what he brings has helped me see the world differently. \u00a0What he finds fascinating makes you stop and look at things differently and with greater appreciation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">This is never more true than when #MomsNotHome! <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>He likes to carry his dinosaurs, and other toys, around in some kind of container.\u00a0 Sometimes a bag, sometimes a bucket, a backpack or just something he has found that day.\u00a0 This is pretty handy for us when it comes time for cleanup and just to keep things organized.
